This month we are hosting something a little different. It’s a work-in-progress screening and feedback session of a live performance documentary. ‘What is a live performance documentary?’ you ask. Well, we are not exactly sure, but it is the latest project by Paris based American film maker, and old friend of DOCo, Scott P Harris and is titled “An American Ginger in Paris”. Come along and explore it with us. Note: we will start the evening promptly this month! The evening will begin with a screening of last month’s DOCMA film, #118: MICROSCOPIC, followed by “An American Ginger in Paris” and an open feedback session. An American Ginger in Paris - SYNOPSIS (FEEDBACK FILM) An American Ginger in Paris is a live performance documentary about what happens when you watch too many romantic comedies: you move to Paris and turn your life into one, presented as an interactive experience. For years, I looked to rom-coms, hoping they’d teach me how to find love. As a result, I learned a lot of horrible lessons. One day, I got to thinking: what would it look like if I made a rom-com that actually had the lesson I needed to hear? This is that film, the one I wish I’d seen when I was 20. The one that might have saved me from doing quite so many ridiculous things.
