Each September, the LandxSea Film Festival transforms Montrose into a hub for bold environmental storytelling. This year’s theme: Creative Ground: Artists Respond to the Climate, celebrates the power of artists to help us feel, reimagine, and respond to a rapidly changing world. Our 3rd annual edition takes place 12–14 September 2025 at the Montrose Playhouse — a community-owned, state-of-the-art cinema on Scotland's northeast coast. The 2025 programme includes 22 new films from around the world, including six Scottish premieres and 1 World premiere with live music, as well as conversations with filmmakers and artists, creative workshops and events, and our beloved Montrose Beach Dook!
