CinemaAttic and Casa Kayeb present a screening of the award-winning documentary No More History Without Us, which exposes the deep-rooted myths that have long shaped how the world sees the Amazon: an untouched wilderness, a “savage demographic emptiness” incapable of speaking for itself. The film is both a manifesto and an act of reclamation, revealing how racism and prejudice continue tosilence Amazonians. Before the film, we will also watch Rayane Penha’s short film Utopia. Following the screening, we will be joined by Claudelice dos Santos, human rights activist and prominent defender of the rainforest, in conversation with Xuanlin Tham, curator for Take One Action Film Festivals.
