We open the festival in Glasgow with an event in collaboration with the Glasgow Short Film Festival, where we will present the UK premiere of Downriver, a Tiger. A Catalan film about a photographer from Barcelona living in Glasgow seemed like an absolutely perfect combination of Scottish and Catalonian stories and couldn’t be a better fit for the Catalan Film Festival. Its clever blend of fiction and archival footage from The National Library of Scotland tells a beautiful story relating to the experience of living abroad, but also to local history and Glasgow’s people. After the screening, we will be joined by the film’s director, Victor Diago, as well as lead actors Julia Diago and Shubham Kirve, for a Q and A.
