Good afternoon! I am bringing a show up to Edinburgh Fringe Festival for a full run at Gilded Balloon and I am on the hunt for a camera operator. The show is about the absurdities of being an actor and trying to chase your dream when your parents are trying to convince you to become a lawyer or an accountant, you are screaming like a Viking across the plains in auditions and having your toes sucked in acting classes. All of this while trying to persevere and hold on to a shred of dignity. A key element of the show is a live feed where we are looking to have a camera operator (in a static position for the whole show) to operate parts of the show to replicate an audition / casting workshop environment. The camera will be hooked up to a TV so the audience can experience what it's like inside an audition room. The operating will be quite straightforward, we need someone with a basic understanding of camera operating and framing to be able to keep me in frame (I've also been a screen actress for about 10 years so I have enough screen awareness to not make this a total nightmare for an operator). Dates we need someone are: July 28th - 09:00 - 13:00 for tech rehearsal July 30th - August 25th (everyday except August 12th) - 11:20 - 13:00 (60 min show with 20 mins get in / get out either side) All of these dates are at Gilded Balloon, Patter House in Edinburgh. This is a paid opportunity at £22 / show but this is very much open to negotiation. I am ideally looking for someone already in Edinburgh but I can provide accommodation for the right person.
